Kansas City Therapist
– Bethany Butler Myers –
Each of us are designed to grow and to flourish. Sometimes, however, life circumstances become so difficult or confusing that we feel like our ability to thrive is interrupted. At times we may even feel that we have lost touch with the most human and valued pieces of ourselves.
I believe that when an environment of safety, trust, and acceptance is created, each of us can re-engage with the growth process. We can then, once again, experience fulfillment, contentment, and connection with others.
Healing from emotional or relational injuries is possible through engaging present moment experiences in a way that brings understanding. This work opens up the possibility to further growth. Through an integrative and holistic approach, I collaborate with clients on their journey.
One of the greatest privileges of my life has been to come along side others and help create a space in life where they can feel connected with themselves, connected with important people in their lives, and connected with a more full and integrated life. I have had the privilege of working with individuals and families, in one form or another, for more than 15 years.
I am very passionate about my work with helping couples find a deeper level of connection with each other. I am one of only a handful of therapists in Kansas City that has completed advanced skills training, including clinical supervision toward certification in Emotionally Focused Therapy. EFT is an approach to couples therapy that is not only empirically validated, but it is consistent with my belief that each of us can thrive and become our more full selves within the context of a securely attached relationship.
The work I have done with individuals has been profoundly satisfying to me. Walking along side someone as they take the brave steps toward exploring themselves more deeply and understanding their reality more clearly is both sacred and powerful. Helping individuals find relief from the suffering that often comes from stress and loneliness is part of the work that I love doing.
I look forward to engaging you along your journey toward a more satisfying life.
